Wide-eyed flounder - Bothus podas

Flatfish with eyes on the left-hand side, but set obliquely. Front head profile is almost straight, especially in mature males. Brownish with numerous different coloured blotches, from white to bluish to yellow. Found on sandy-muddy and detrital bottoms, from 10 - 15 metres to 400. Maximum size 45 centimetres.
